Wet & Wild, Lashes, Maybelline & NYX Haul!

P1010043

Hey Beauties!

I absolutely love shopping for beauty products. I recently went makeup shopping to get some new goodies that I really wanted and needed to add to my makeup kit. I wanted to share with you all what I bought.

P1010051

The first and most important things I bought was Maybelline New York’s Clean Express Makeup Remover Wipes and Eye Makeup Remover. I bought these from Walgreens because there was a great sale of buy 1 get 1 half off on certain beauty items. I was so happy because one can never have too much makeup remover wipes. I go through a lot of them, whether I am doing my makeup for the day or trying out a new look. These are great items to stock up on.

P1010046

Here are a couple of Wet & Wild palettes that I bought that were also on sale at Walgreens. These are the “Comfort Zone” and “Petal Pusher” palettes. I love the colors. I had seen them used in a few makeup tutorials on YouTube and I really wanted them for my collection. The colors are highly pigmented. With the right primer, you can really create a gorgeous eye makeup look with a very vibrant color payoff. I will be doing tutorials using these palettes in the near future.

Here are swatches from the “Comfort Zone” palette.

Speaking of primers, here is a jumbo eye pencil from NYX in the shade “Milk.” I have seen this eye pencil used many times in tutorials as a primer for eyeshadow and I wanted to give it a try. The color payoff with this eye pencil is awesome. The eyeshadow color payoff after using this is so vivid and bright. This is a great investment for any makeup collection. It’s very cheap. I bought it for $3.99. Score!

Lastly, I needed to stock up on a couple of pairs of false lashes, so I headed over to a beauty supply store in my neighborhood to get a few pairs. I love natural looking lashes, but I also like flirty looking ones. So I thought I would try something new and get the middle pair and see how they would look on me. Each pair of these lashes only cost me $1.00. Serious Score! There is no brand name for the top 2 pair, but the last pair is from Glam i, # 20.

I hope you all like my haul. I will do a review and let you all know how these products worked for me soon.

Happy Beauty!

My April Glam Bag!

P1010016

Hello Beauties!

Here is a look at what I received in my April Glam Bag. I am so in love with all of these products, with the exception of one. Lets take a look inside.

P1010023

In this month’s bag, I received a full-size blush from “be a…..bombshell” in the shade “beach please.”  This is a bright pink blush shade that is great from the Spring and Summer days. It is a great everyday blush. I love the color payoff, especially for someone of a darker skin tone such as myself.

P1010027

This is an awesome pink natural nude nail color. This is from the nail polish company “SATION NAIL LACQUER” in the shade ” Love At First Byte.” I love this shade because I have times when it is hard to find the perfect natural-looking nail color. This is a gorgeous natural looking soft color that is not overwhelming and perfectly pink.

P1010026

This is a mica shimmer powder in the shade “Earth” from Mica Beauty Cosmetics. This is a gorgeous earthy soft pink mica powder that has an incredible color payoff.

P1010035

Here is a swatch from just a tiny trickle of it. Too dye, right?!

P1010022

This is the part of my Glam Bag that I am not too excited about. I am the kind of person that doesn’t like to put crazy hair products such as this in my hair. Why would I put a powder in my hair to add volume? I am not happy about this product. This will just be sitting in my cabinet collecting dust, I guess.

Ultimately this is a great bag this month and I excited to use the products that I like.

Makeup: Cat Eyes!

Hello Beauties!

This is a gorgeous cat eye look that I came up with. I was feeling a little feisty, so I decided to try to create my own version of the trendy “cat eye” look.  I noticed how this look completely reshaped my eyes and kinda pulled them upward. I love it.

For the eyes, I used about 4 eyeshadows by MAC and a gel liner to create the extra large wing. For the lips, I used this new lip stain that I just bought from the event I attended the other night called “Let’s Get Styled.” The lip stain is called Millebaci by Nouba, an Italian cosmetics company. Isn’t it just too dye?! This is officially my favorite lip stain ever. I know that it’s Spring, and this color is more appropriate for Fall. But I will find a reason to rock this stain. Trust me.

What do you think? Do you like it? Let me know.

“Let’s Get Styled: Our Fashionable Night Out”

ZayverInvite-01_zpsd39a67b9

Hello My Loves!

I attended an event this evening called “Let’s Get Styled: Our Fashionable Night Out.” It was an event where about 4 vendors and one makeup artist came to showcase their merchandise.

It was held at Coquette Boutique in the Galleria area of Houston. It was very nice, calm, and artsy, yet very elegant and chic. The vendors’ merchandise can only be described the same way. All of the fashions and accessories on display were so chic and definitely on trend for the season.

The makeup artist on hand, Sarah Tucker Makeup Artistry, was especially awesome and had great quality makeup products. There were products from Make Up For Ever for sale, and from an Italian makeup brand I had never heard of called Nouba. The quality of the Nouba makeup products were outstanding! I couldn’t believe I had been without this makeup brand. The majority of the products on display were mineralized and highly pigmented. I found a lip stain that is now my official favorite. It was really love at first sight! Seriously! All of the products Sarah had for sale from both makeup lines were great and gorgeous.

The event itself were extremely nice and so much fun. I met really great new people and socialized with everyone. The hors d’oeuvres and cocktails were really delicious. You can never go wrong with cocktails, food, makeup, and fashion all in the same place!

The highlight of the entire evening for me was receiving the swag bag. The products inside were fabulous. There were samples from Make Up For Ever, a delicious toffee crunch brownie, accessories, a Prada perfume sample and a sweet card. I was so excited. I love the element of surprise, so I waited until I got home before I looked inside. It was well worth the wait!

This event was so much fun. I can’t wait until another event like this comes up. I will be there.

Happy Beauty.

Daily Inspiration: Hurting People Hurt People

Daily Inspiration: Hurting People Hurt People

Everyone has, or has had, someone in their lives that is constantly hurting them emotionally, physically, or mentally. I know I have. When it comes to people treating us this way, we get angry with them, sometimes even go toe-to-toe with them and do to them what they do to us.

There is something that we must understand: Hurting people hurt people.

No one that is truly happy will ever do anything to intentionally hurt someone, especially someone they claim to love. No one that has it all together will ever try to ruin the life of someone else.

People that hurt others are lacking something, be it self-confidence, true happiness, or knowing how to love. If someone is hurting you, there is something that they lack in there life and they compensate for it by putting someone else down to feel some kind of control or feel like they are better than someone else.

While it may seem like it would be better to do the same to them in return, that’s not what God wants you to do.

“Vengeance is mine”-Romans 12:19

“But I say to you, love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you.” -Matthew 5:44

While it may be hard to pray for those that are intentionally hurting you and belittling you, pray for them and forgive them. Pray for them and let God handle it. Turn the other cheek. Think that it’s impossible, it not. Jesus Christ did it on Calvary. As he was being crucified, tortured and humiliated, he prayed for them…….

“Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.” -Luke 23:34.

If Jesus Christ can do it, we can do it too. There is a such thing as loving someone from a distance. If someone is hurting you, you don’t have to constantly endure it. You can pray for them, and love them…..from a distance.

Always Pray. Have A Blessed Day.

Beauty Tip: Lasting Lip Color Tips!

Beauty Tip: Lasting Lip Color Tips!

Hello My Loves!

Ladies, how many of you are tired of having those days where your lip color looks gorgeous when you leave the house, and you find yourself having to constantly reapply a throughout the day? I would be running my errands for the day. A couple of hours later, I need to reapply my lipstick. OMG, I hate that!!!!! Lets not talk about what happens if I forgot my lipstick at home and can’t reapply……incomplete makeup is not the business!

Do you have that same problem? Guess what, it stops today! I have a great step-by-step way of helping you maintain your gorgeous lip color throughout the day without having to reapply.

Step 1: Exfoliate your lips. You can use a toothbrush and a little vaseline to scrub away the dead skin on your lips, or you can use my favorite method and use a lip scrub. I will include a couple of lip scrub recipes at the end of this post.

Step 2: Prep your lips by applying your favorite lip balm to moisturize your lips. Let it sink into your lips for a few minutes. You can take this time to complete the rest of your makeup routine, if you like.

Step 3: Fill in your lips. Take a lip liner that closely matches your natural lip color and fill in your lips completely. This will create a thick layer between your lips and the lip color you will apply. It gives your lip color something to adhere to. The reason you should use a lip liner closest to your lip color is to prevent contrast between your lip liner and your chosen lip color.

Step 4: Apply your lip color, blot with a folded piece of tissue paper or paper towel, and apply another layer of your lip color. This alone can make your lip color last little longer, but we want it to last ALL DAY!

Step 5: Finally, take some translucent powder and lightly dust it over your lip color.

That’s it! You are done, ladies. Your lip color will last so incredibly long, you can leave you lipstick at home.

Simple and amazing, right?! Your lip color will look too dye all day long. Give it a try.

Here are the lip scrub recipes, as promised…..

Recipe #1: Brown Sugar and Honey Lip Scrub ( SO YUMMY!)

1 Tablespoon of honey
2 Teaspoons of brown sugar
1 Tablespoon of coconut oil

Mix everything together until a smooth paste is formed.
Apply the mixture on your lips and gently rub the lips to remove dead skin. Wash your lips with water and apply your lip balm on your lips to moisturize them.

Recipe #2: SImple and Quick Lip Scrub

1 Teaspoon of sugar
1 Teaspoon of Vaseline

Mix them together and rub on your lips to remove the dead skin. Wipe the lip scrub away with a small wet towel and apply your lip balm to moisturize you lips.

Happy Beauty!

Fierce Fiery Eyes!

Hello Lovers!

Today I was feeling “some kind of way.” I was playing around in my makeup and it really came out in the look I created. I came up with this fierce fiery red look. I really fell in love with this look. I love how the red is really screaming on my eyes, considering that that’s exactly what I felt like doing. LOL

For my eyes, I used “Bronze” eyeshadow from MAC, and 3 other shadows from my BH Cosmetics 120 3rd Edition Palette. For my face, I used MAC’s Mineralized Skin Finish Natural, Clinique’s Line Smoothing Concealer, “Handwritten” by MAC to contour, “Fever” blush by MAC. For my lips, I used “Chestnut Lip Liner” and “OH OH OH” lipstick by MAC from the Archie’s Girls Collection.

I will do a video tutorial on this look because I love it so much. This look is really HOT!

What do you think? Isn’t it just too dye?!!!

Happy Beauty!
